Headlining the event is improv space rockers Julie’s Haircut.
Active since the late nineties, Julie’s Haircut is a band from Emilia, Northern Italy, devoted to spacey, hypnotic sounds.
Through their extensive back catalogue, the band’s musical journey has evolved from the garage-rock soulful energy of their debut towards a more experimental direction, without losing touch with the groove and melody that characterised their sound on releases like ‘Fever In The Funk House‘
Their new album “In The Silence Electric” is released on 4th October 2019 by Rocket Recordings.

Supporting this unique event for Chester, you have two local acts.
Thee Lucifer Sams have had an interesting history already.
They started life five years ago when Ivan Hell from Dirtblonde put together the first incarnation of the band to play at his one-off psych night called ‘Syd Barret Was My Grandad’ (!)
However, the band split up on the evening of their second ever gig, when the original drummer, suffering from schizophrenia and at danger of committing suicide, was caught by the police at the venue, shortly before their live set was due.
He was escorted to a mental institution with the band left to fizzle out.
On September 2018 Ivan re-igntited the band, now featuring local legend Richie (Ivan’s partner in Slow Death) on bass, and Markhus, one of the finest guitarists in Liverpool, on Drums.
Last, but certainly not least from our perspective, is Schott’s List’s Startripper.
Featuring Vince Cory on lead (Sonic Trip Project/Red Elektra 69/Ash Magna/Nik Turner) and local music blogger Daniel Schott on decks/synth/samples.
This is the spirit of ’67 with 90’s big beat sensibilities.
The duo, both originally from the same Cheshire village but a generation apart, met through Dan’s love of Vince’s other band Red Elektra ’69 and started experimenting with loops and samples from the likes of Chemical Brothers, The Beatles & The Spencer Davis Group, with Vince throwing lead over the top and Dan adding noise and fx.
This lead them to playing a number of live improv gigs around Chester and also the remixes appearing on Soundcloud.
As the rehearsals went on and the duo were finding their sound, Dan started building his own samples and work started on their original material.
Over the last 18 months Startripper have released two EP’s and Dan has released a side-project with Chester musician David Watson entitled ‘Startripper & The Blue Boy’ all through Schott’s List Music, with all the back catalogue available to stream at the end of September 2019.
Startripper will be performing a DJ/remix set at the event, so expect loops and beats you recognise taken in different directions with Vince supplying a masterclass in lead.
