The event is at Telford’s Warehouse and as per, it’s £4 after 9pm.
We caught up with inimitable label maestro Si Jones, because lets be honest, it’s always good to catch up with Si Jones:
“We first caught Purple Heart Parade playing with The Longcut in Soup Kitchen Northern Quarter and were blown away with their take on Nineties shoegaze. This lead to us checking out their back catalogue via Club AC30 Records and becoming hardcore converts.
Lashings of My Bloody Valentine and shimmering harmonies should make for a boss transcendental Friday night on the canal.
We’ve also got Mai 68 DJs drunkenly and enthusiastically spinning all manner of floor fillers till late. Come and play brothers and sisters x…”
The band first caught our attention making ripples across social mediums in late 2018 with the release of the seminal ‘Lonestar EP’, with the limited vinyl run selling very quickly.
Opener ‘The Room’ is a track so anthemic, you’re sure you’ve it heard before ,as it majestically soothes that itch left wanting since the demise of Ride, Swervedriver and the rest of the beautiful genre.
It was recorded at Perryvale Studios in South London with the legendary Pat Collier – with Jesus & Mary Chain, Primal Scream Katrina and the Waves, The House of Love, The Wonderstuff amongst the artists he’s worked with.
To soundtrack the event, the M68 crew have promised ‘Talking Heads / LCD Soundsystem / Robyn / Ride / Prince / Hot Chip / Belle & Sebastian / Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Alvvays / Liquid Liquid / Jurassic 5 / New Order / !!! / Daft Punk / Probably loads more LCD Soundsystem….’
So there you have it.
I was also having a chat with Si at last week’s Restless Bear event and they have some VERY exciting news for 2020.
Chester marches on.
See you there.
