SEPTEMBER BANGERS:

Here’s a little gander at what’s getting blasted at SchottHQ this month.

Also keep an eye on our spotify playlist which gets updated weekly.

CRAPSONS – WHO’LL BABYSIT THE GOTHS:

Justifiably bratty noise from the popular wirral duo, linked with clever social wordplay and a cracking video to boot.

Check out their bandcamp releases here, including the brilliant ‘Deaths & Spelling Mistakes’album from last year.

EDGEY: CLAM (CHEEKY LITTLE ACID MIX):

Another well polished and authentic set from the seasoned DJ/Producer.

‘…. I still love that retro sound. Tunes that evoke feelings the pioneering sounds had back in the day still sound boss to me. Chicago House, Detroit Techno, Belgium New Beat, Italo Disco where rolling 303 basslines, lifting pianos and heavily sampled vocals all met to create majestic soundscapes….’

We hear you Edgey lad. We. Hear. You.

GRAVVES: STEADY AS SHE GOES (& DIES):

A stirring debut on the Restless Bear label for the North Wales trio. This is exactly what Supergrass should of done after ‘I Should Coco’.

Energetic and just the right side of anthemic.

Check out there previous releases here.

SINKING SHIPS:

Absolute force of nature, Ryan Amos, continues to amaze in live performance, as well as sheer volume of quality work.

I’m aware there’s some stuff going on behind the scenes with another well respected artist Chester artist, which is very VERY exciting…….!

RABO DE TORRO: NURSE:

Okay, while strictly not from Chester, or any mild stretching of the borders, the Bangor punk four-piece have a cult following in the area, due to their scintillating local live performances.

This track will be easily recognisable to the lucky few cestrians, who were able to catch this brutal stage art in the flesh.

Certainly up there, along with Yammerer’s ‘…Poisonous..’ for track of the year for us.

ANDY PEGGS: STRONGER THONGS:

Local modular EDM producer Andy Peggs forces himself onto another list with this phenomenal ear-worm.

Love the aggression on this. Perfect tempo. Bliss.

VINCE CORY: JETSTREAM:

A much welcomed solo effort for one of Chester’s most successful musical exports.

Kick back for twenty minutes of top notch psychedelic space rock with one of the region’s finest guitarists.
